Leafy panels are modular, self-regulating green façade panels that combine biobased materials with living vegetation. The panels are designed to transform building façades into resilient, low-maintenance ecosystems that contribute to climate adaptation, biodiversity and human well-being.
Each panel consists of a biobased wooden frame (typically Accoya), a living regenerative substrate and carefully selected plants. The system is connected to a passive irrigation setup that uses rainwater from the building’s downpipe, allowing water to be buffered and slowly distributed without pumps or complex technology. This makes the system robust, energy-efficient and suitable for large-scale application.
The substrate retains water and nutrients while allowing healthy root development and micro-life. Plants are selected through a site-specific Flora & Fauna Scan, ensuring ecological compatibility with local conditions such as sun exposure, wind and existing biodiversity. As a result, the panels remain visually attractive throughout the year: lush and green in summer, with a calm, natural façade expression in winter.
Leafy panels provide measurable environmental benefits, including façade cooling, improved insulation, CO₂ capture, rainwater buffering, sound attenuation and increased biodiversity. Integrated options for fauna habitats further enhance ecological value. The system is designed for long service life, minimal maintenance and adaptability to different façade materials and architectural contexts.
By combining natural aesthetics with functional performance, Leafy panels move green façades from decorative elements to essential building components that actively improve urban environments.
